“Ein Tag im Universum”((A Day in the Universe)) looks into the distance, to the future, to the bottom of the ocean, to reality, to fiction and to the universe. It looks toward the origin, everything that has already been and all that is yet to come.

In her famous writing project „Ein Tag im Jahr“(„One Day a Year“) Christa Wolf documented September 27 in a diary-like way over the span of decades, creating a very personal and, due to its duration, also historically relevant work. Nele Stuhler is inspired by this approach and has been developing it further, also documenting her personal September 27 for some years already. This year, however, different timelines ‒ maybe even parallel universes ‒ cross paths on this predetermined date.

The narrative of a day in all its banalities emerges, mixed with intimate insights, reflections on the structures of society and visions of the future, the universe and everything else. Through a future-oriented narrative it becomes apparent: Past, present and future overlap, intertwine and influence each other.
